Sunset
Folks, I think we can safely call Plywood complete, or at least finished. Thanks to everyone out there for
all the support and kind words. I won't swear that it won't return at some future date, but don't bet on it.
If it does, I'm going to have the good sense to generate a backlog of a dozen or so strips (like we did the
first go-round) before breathing a word to anyone. It's absolutely mortifying to announce a triumphant
return, then run out of things to say three strips in. I've found that I can't force comics on demand, and
the attempt leads to some fairly embarrassing and
inadvertently derivative results.
This whole experience has made me respect real
webcomic creators all the more.
I don't know how they manage day after day, year after year.
I suppose most don't, come to that. Still, 70-some-odd strips ain't too shabby.
In any case, I think I'll leave Jon, Jayne, and MB there, together, watching the sunset. What better ending could we expect? I like to think that they can find their own futures together, somewhere on the grid, without me there to jot it all down. And this is getting needlessly maudlin, so I'll end it here. Thanks, everyone, and I hope to see you
in SL!
